Widtsköfle

Normal-grade timber is sawn at ATA Timber Widtskövle AB. The saw line was rebuilt in the summer of 2013 into a straight line using the latest technical advances.

Prior to the stock being sawn, it is measured using a 3D measurement frame to secure the best possible yield. The decomposition stage takes place in a reduction line with profiling in the 2nd reducer.

The partition saw allows sawing with up to 5 cuts. For green sorting, the sawn product is assessed by quality and size, and is then sorted into lengths and packaged for drying. The edger is unmanned and supervision is carried out by the saw operator.

Annual production comes in at around 75,000 m3 of sawn goods per 8-hour shift. The timber is dried in one of the 15 chamber dryers. Once drying is complete, the timber is adjusted and sorted in the dry sorter, where a strength rating is also ascertained.
